- Working artist enamoured of the rising sun over the marshes at Wachapreague VA., a fishing village on Virginias' eastern shore, among other things. My experience with painting goes back over 40 years when what I do was called landscape painting. I have worked in the art-supply business and other real-estate related areas. However, in 2002 I opened a studio/gallery in this little backwater town and since then I have given my time over to concentrating on my artistic side. At the studio I hold classes when there are students interested, host Second Friday openings for other artists, and work in the studio preparing canvas and panels in the traditional manner with rabbit skin glue and oil white ground for painting as well as still-life painting and enlarging my nature studies to sizes up to 36 x 48", some of which can be seen at www.jackrichardsongallery.com.
