Godspeed at Onancock wharf.

When the ship Godspeed came to town to recreate the route of the John Smith expedition. I couldn't resist the oportunity to paint her.

I liked the light coming through the woods and crossing the road. 12 x 16" oil on linen

Marsh Point Farm in the morning


Sunlight streaming over the marsh grass makes this spot one of my favorites. 10 x 20" oil on canvas.

Horse with zinnias


Sometimes it's nice to have a subject that doesn't move. I enjoyed working-up the intensity of the color. 24 x 18" oil on linen.

Burtons Bay Spring


Overlooking Burtons' Bay in the spring the colors were crisp and clear. 10 x 20" oil on linen.

Ballard House


In Cape Charles this year we painted the town for two days. This is one of those paintings.

Blue Moon


In May of 2007 on the east coast we had a blue moon. I found a spot to observe and stood in the field to get a real sense of the scene. This is what I came up with. 24 x 36" oil on linen.
