The north end of Foul Bay has a sentinel rock where the sea crashes and the light changes dramatically. I tried to capture the scene in this demonstration piece for the class.
Speightstown is on the northeast coast and the north side of the town looks still untouched by the development that is overtaking the island. Next year I hope to stay awhile there and paint the picturesque street scenes.Sunday, February 26, 2012
The beauty of the place is captured here on the first day painting on the South Coast of Barbados. We also stopped to paint at Foul Bay, at least some of us, others were overtaken by some sort of dementia which left them unable. Then, off to the North Coast to see the sea pounding, and the fierce wind made it impossible to set up an easel.
